Facials in the Covid Era, What to Expect

Personal care businesses have begun to open as Los Angeles enters the ‘Orange Tier’ and local activity-specific restrictions are slowly being lifted. As personal care businesses reopen, there will be a very different experience than what we were used to pre-COVID.

What exactly will the facial be like?

Firstly, when you book your appointment expect staggered time slots. Appointments are staggered to ensure physical distancing and to give enough time for the workspace to be properly cleaned and sanitized between clients. It may be quite impossible to book a last-minute appointment so make sure you’re planning ahead of time to get your spot of relaxation. Also to keep an acceptable capacity and social distancing in place, when you come to the appointment you must come alone. A new normal that many of us have oddly come accustomed to is wearing our masks at all times.

(Remember, mask over the nose!!)

You’ll be wearing your mask once you go inside and then you’re allowed to remove it once it’s time for the facial. While it never fazed us getting a facial it might be a bit weird taking off your mask somewhere outside your home. Especially seeing your esthetician with gloves and face mask, but this is the professional facial that we’ll be seeing for the foreseeable future!

As always we need to remain safe, so before getting your facial you’ll be asked a series of questions and your temperature will be taken. If you have no symptoms and have had no contact with someone with a positive COVID-19 case you’re cleared for your facial. However, if you show symptoms expect to be sent home immediately and quarantine in your home!

All in all, throughout this experience with all its new safety measures you’re definitely guaranteed to have a relaxing and soothing facial. Expect all the guidelines and expect to walk out with pampered skin.
